Frugal Friday Report

On Friday of each week, I plan to summarize a list of my weekly spending including how much I saved and savings percentage.  I am hoping to show how much I am saving and improving each week by using my new savvy shopping skills...

I didn't spend much this week, probably most likely Macomb Money Savers was down most of the week and wasn't able post her Grocery match-ups this week.  The good news is that her site is back up with a new name: Bargains to Bounty.  Yeah!!!

Here is what my week looked like:

Week # Start End Spending Savings Savings %
1 12/31 1/6  $    62.37  $   56.53 48%
2 1/7 1/13  $    59.15  $ 131.69 69%
3 1/14 1/20  $    52.91  $   94.17 64%
4 1/21 1/27  $    40.44  $   37.69 48%
5 1/28 2/3  $    97.22  $ 188.26 66%
6 2/4 2/10  $    51.74  $   81.17 61%
7 2/11 2/17  $    89.21  $ 104.29 54%
8 2/18 2/24  $    39.64  $   91.00 70%
9 2/25 3/3  $    56.41  $   69.49 55%
10 3/4 3/10  $    53.23  $   96.32 64%
11 3/11 3/17  $    63.54  $ 107.08 63%
12 3/18 3/24  $    28.97  $   17.02 37%

Here is the chart:

I spent $28.97 and saved $17.02 (37%).  My low spending was due to the fact that there weren't many deals/sales last week therefore I bought mostly the essentials like milk and produce, which I didn't save much on!  My weekly average is now at $57.90, so a couple dollars under my $60 weekly budget!

Frugal Friday Report

On Friday of each week, I plan to summarize a list of my weekly spending including how much I saved and savings percentage.  I am hoping to show how much I am saving and improving each week by using my new savvy shopping skills...

I went a little over budget at $63.54 this past week.  I was a big fan of the "10 for $10, Get 11th for Free" at Meijer and the "March to Savings Event" at Kroger, so I felt like I got quite a bit of food and still stayed pretty close to my budget.  Here's how this week looked:

Week # Start End Spending Savings Savings %
1 12/31 1/6  $    62.37  $   56.53 48%
2 1/7 1/13  $    59.15  $ 131.69 69%
3 1/14 1/20  $    52.91  $   94.17 64%
4 1/21 1/27  $    40.44  $   37.69 48%
5 1/28 2/3  $    97.22  $ 188.26 66%
6 2/4 2/10  $    51.74  $   81.17 61%
7 2/11 2/17  $    89.21  $ 104.29 54%
8 2/18 2/24  $    39.64  $   91.00 70%
9 2/25 3/3  $    56.41  $   69.49 55%
10 3/4 3/10  $    53.23  $   96.32 64%
11 3/11 3/17  $    63.54  $ 107.08 63%

And here's the chart:

I spent a total of $63.54 this week and saved $107.08 (maybe more if I knew how much I saved at Save-A-Lot), for a savings percentage of 63%.

My favorite deals at Meijer this week include:  free Bagel Bites, free Green Giant Veggies (we were out of these at home), free Land O' Lakes butter, $1/bag Lays Natural Potato Chips and $1 bag Apples.  My favorite Kroger deals include: $0.50/box Annie's Organic Mac & Cheese, free Ronzoni Pasta and $1/bag Garden of Eatin' Organic Tortilla Chips.  You can find out more on these deals at Macomb Money Savers.

Frugal Friday Report

On Friday of each week, I plan to summarize a list of my weekly spending including how much I saved and savings percentage.  I am hoping to show how much I am saving and improving each week by using my new savvy shopping skills...

I was able to stay under budget this week again (I spent $53.23), probably due to the slow sales week at the stores.  Here's how my week looked:

Week # Start End Spending Savings Savings %
1 12/31 1/6  $    62.37  $   56.53 48%
2 1/7 1/13  $    59.15  $ 131.69 69%
3 1/14 1/20  $    52.91  $   94.17 64%
4 1/21 1/27  $    40.44  $   37.69 48%
5 1/28 2/3  $    97.22  $ 188.26 66%
6 2/4 2/10  $    51.74  $   81.17 61%
7 2/11 2/17  $    89.21  $ 104.29 54%
8 2/18 2/24  $    39.64  $   91.00 70%
9 2/25 3/3  $    56.41  $   69.49 55%
10 3/4 3/10  $    53.23  $   96.32 64%

Here is the chart:

I saved a total of $96.32, for a savings percentage of 64%.  I am getting a little low on some groery basics though, so my next couple weeks might go above my $60 budget.  My weekyl spending averages out at $60.23, so I am spot on!

My favorite deals this week include the free dial foaming soap, $0.44 cent packages of Archway cookies, $0.39 boxes of Post cereal (I used an additional $2/1 coupon), $1.99/lb Angus Ground Beef from Round (more on these deals at Macomb Money Savers) and the free Covergirl Makeup at Rite Aid this week (more on this at Coupon Crazy Chrys).

Also, don't forget about the Super Saturday Sale tomorrow (3/12) at Meijer!  To see some of the great deals at match-ups, head on over to Macomb Money Savers!

Frugal Friday Report

On Friday of each week, I plan to summarize a list of my weekly spending including how much I saved and savings percentage.  I am hoping to show how much I am saving and improving each week by using my new savvy shopping skills...

I was able to stay under budget this week, but had a lower-than-usual savigns percentage.

Here is the chart:

                                                   (click on chart to enlarge)

You may have noticed I have changed my spreadsheet a little by only including this year's data only.  The list was getting a little long and I thought it would be a little easier to follow starting at the beginning of 2010!

I spent a total of $56.41 and saved a total of $69.49 (for a savings percentage of 55%).  My savings percentage was a little lower than what I have been getting lately.  I did buy some non-coupon items like a LOT of produce and meat so I had little savings on those items.

I have been buying a lot of my produce at a new Save-A-Lot store that opened up recently in Walled Lake and have noticed many items quite a bit cheaper it is there than Meijer or Kroger.  For example, bananas are only $0.33/lb and I believe they are $0.49/lb at Meijer.  So I have been stopping in there to grab many veggies and fruits that may not be on sale at the other stores that week.

Frudal Friday Report (Late!)

On Friday of each week, I plan to summarize a list of my weekly spending including how much I saved and savings percentage.  I am hoping to show how much I am saving and improving each week by using my new savy shopping skills!

Sorry I am so late with my post this week.  I had a busy weekend and am just now getting to it.  I had a pretty great shopping week last week and was able to stay under my $60 budget.  Here's how it looked:

Week # Start End Spending Savings Savings %
1 10/8 10/14  $  144.98  $ 137.47 49%

16 1/21 1/27  $    40.44  $   37.69 48%
17 1/28 2/3  $    97.22  $ 188.26 66%
18 2/4 2/10  $    51.74  $   81.17 61%
19 2/11 2/17  $    89.21  $ 104.29 54%
20 2/18 2/24  $    39.64  $   91.00 70%

Here is my chart:

I had a great week last week!  I was able to keep my spending under my $60 budget at $39.64.  I was able to save 70%, for a total of $90 in savings!  I think it helped that the stores didn't seem to have too many great deals, so I just stuck to the really good ones and skipped out on everything else.

For 2010, my average weekly spending is at $61.58, which is so close to my budget...
